Municipality of Nafpaktia

The Municipality of Nafpaktos was a municipality of the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania that was established with the Kapodistrias program

from the amalgamation of older communities of the area, which later formed the municipal districts of the municipality.

Operated in the period 1999-2010, when it was abolished with the implementation of the Kallikrates program and joined

in the new Municipality of Nafpaktia.

It was located in the east of the prefecture and bordered the prefecture of Fokida.

The municipality consisted of fourteen municipal districts and had a population of 18,231 inhabitants,

according to the 2001 Census. The seat of the municipality was Nafpaktos.
